  • Explosions & Speed: Can You Outrun a Blast Wave?
In most cases, humans cannot outrun an average explosion's blast wave. The speed of a blast wave depends on the type and amount of explosive material, but it can range from hundreds to thousands of miles per hour. The average human running speed is around 15 miles per hour.

To outrun an explosion, you would need to be significantly faster than the blast wave. Additionally, you would need to be able to maintain this speed for a considerable distance, as many explosions can cover an area of several hundred feet.

Given these factors, it is highly improbable that a person could outrun an explosion.
