  • SpaceX Crew Dragon: NASA's First Crewed Mission Since 2011
On May 27, 2020, SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft successfully launched two NASA astronauts, Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley, to the International Space Station. This marked the first time in nearly a decade that NASA had launched astronauts from American soil.

The Crew Dragon is a reusable spacecraft that can carry up to seven passengers. It is designed to be more efficient and less expensive than the Space Shuttle, which NASA retired in 2011.

Boeing is also developing a spacecraft to carry NASA astronauts to the ISS. The spacecraft, called the Starliner, is still in development and has not yet made any crewed flights.

Here are some things to know about Boeing's first spaceflight carrying NASA astronauts:

    * The launch is scheduled for the end of 2023 or early 2024.

    * The Starliner will carry four NASA astronauts to the ISS.

    * The mission is expected to last for about six months.

    * The Starliner will dock with the ISS and the astronauts will conduct a series of experiments and repairs.

    * The Starliner will return to Earth and land in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Boeing Starliner is an important part of NASA's plan to return to human spaceflight. The successful launch of the Starliner will be a major milestone for the space agency.
